Comparative Analysis of Multi-Criteria Decision Making and Life Cycle Assessment Methods for Sustainable Evaluation of Concrete Mixtures

In previous literature, multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods and life cycle assessment (LCA) methods, integrating different properties, have been applied to cementitious materials separately. This study addresses the existing gap in research by comparing LCA with durability parameters integrated MCDM concrete mixtures. The aim is assess differences between these two approaches when assessing overall sustainability of materials. Concrete mixtures containing conventional recycled materials, such as supplementary (SCMs) aggregate (RCA), are evaluated based on their mechanical parameters, environmental impact, cost. results highlight positive impact SCM usage performance emphasizes importance reducing cement content for sustainability. Careful RCA utilization crucial due variable outcomes combined SCMs. also exhibit that various show acceptable ranking mixtures, offering flexibility property weighting applications. contrast, yield higher differences, emphasizing superior consistency methods. sensitivity analysis highlights significance weight parameters. Standardizing procedures specific applications recommended ensure reliability relevance results.
